Rose Marie Dowse, 80, of Scranton died Sunday at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Anthony and Carmella Speranzo Caprio, she attended West Scranton High School. Prior to retirement, Rose Marie was employed by Gould Battery and later by Panel Prints in Old Forge.
She was a devout Catholic and enjoyed going to church and would faithfully attend the novena at St. Ann’s Basilica. A loving mother and grandmother, her family was her life and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the excellent staff in the dementia unit at Mountain View Care Center as well as Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the care and compassion given to Rose Marie.
Surviving is her daughter, Lisa Marie James, Scranton; granddaughter, Nicole Marie James, N.J.; grandson Morgan Anthony James, Scranton; former husband and friend, Robert Dowse; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Caprio.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s Basilica, St. Ann Street, West Scranton. Interment to be held privately.
