Sonia Bricker Rosenfeld, 91, of Malvern, PA and formerly of Scranton, died Sunday afternoon at the Twin Pines Health Care Center in West Grove, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Philip and Rose Dworkin Bricker, she had been employed as an administrative assistant by Lackawanna County government prior to retirement.
Sonia was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1948. She spent most of her life in Scranton with her loving family, friends who were more like family to her, and a host of Scrantonians across the years. Sonia ventured beyond Lackawanna County lines living in Delray Beach FLA, E. Norriton, PA, Wilmington, DE and finally Malvern, PA. Sonia made new friends wherever she lived, but the draw of her family was too much and she wanted to be near them and returned to PA.
Surviving are her daughters, Pennye Weinstein and son in law Jay Weinstein, Jill Standlee and husband Taylor, and Rona Levenson; grandchildren Erica Levenson, Scott Weinstein, and Livia Standlee; along with her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sonia was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Rosenstein; and brothers George, Danny, and Norman Bricker.
The funeral will be Thursday, November 11th at 1:30 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Cantor Vladimir Aronzon.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the times of service. Interment to follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore.
All those attending are asked to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
