Stephen Day, 40, of Dunmore died unexpectedly Saturday, June 13, 2020.
Born July 30, 1979, he was the son of Tammy Day of Brooksville, FL, and the late Donald Day who had resided in Dunmore. He was a 1997 graduate of Dunmore High School.
Steve’s greatest quality was his love for his family. He loved his family with his entire heart and soul. He was his nephew David’s biggest supporter, as you could always find him cheering loudly at all the baseball, football, and soccer games. He would wear his #11 shirt with such pride. He loved his niece Madison, and though not of his blood, he accepted her with open arms and unconditional love.
Just as his father did, he had a passion and love for coaching, especially the Dunmore Oilers. He was respected both by fellow coaches and players. Steve was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved movies and was always one of the first to see new releases, and kept an extensive movie collection of his favorites.
Also surviving is a brother Bubby Day and wife Karen of Dunmore; nephew David Day and niece Madison Spathelf, both of Dunmore; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Thomas Day.
There are no public services at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
