Teresa Iania Carlo

Teresa Carlo, 90, Dunmore, passed away Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit, Dunmore.  She was the wife of Arthur Carlo who died April 25, 2020.

Born in Italy to the late Antonio and Ippolita Martelli Iania, she came to this country in 1965.  Teresa worked in the garment industry for many years and married Arthur in 1973.  Together, they spent many beautiful winters in Vero Beach, Florida and playing golf was their big enjoyment.  Teresa was a great cook, and always welcome in her home and at her table.  A game of poker was also a must.  Theresa belonged to SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. 

She is survived by one sister, Angela Montaro and husband Frank, Dunmore; and one brother, Thomas Iania and girlfriend Marilyn, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Angie Summa, Dunmore, Phyl Verrastro, Moscow, and Rose Carlo, New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Antonio and Battista.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:45 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Family and friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
