Theodore “Teddy” Eugene Gabriel, 85, of Keyser Valley and formerly of West Scranton died Thursday at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Arcure Gabriel in 1989, and survived by his companion Suzie Teague.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Clarence and Marion LeBoutillier Gabriel, Teddy was a Meat Manager at Gerrity’s Supermarket. After retirement, he worked as an usher at PNC Field and Mohegan Sun Arena.
Teddy was an avid Yankee’s fan, enjoying going to several games, as well as meeting many Yankee players. Being a sports fan, he helped start and was involved with the West Side Falcons football team. Teddy enjoyed sitting on his porch with Suzie and talking with their neighbors. A man who loved his family, he will be missed by them dearly.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol Grant and husband, Joe, Taylor, Amy Cole and husband, Roy, Scranton; seven grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, Hazel Grant, who he cherished and was the light of his life. Also surviving is, Patti Teague, Tripps Park, Rita Connor and husband, Brian, Springbrook Township, Jerry Teague and wife, Cindy, West Scranton, Sharon Shehadi, West Scranton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Palermo and Ann McCray, and brothers, Clarence Jr. and Kenneth Gabriel.
Due to the current pandemic, a private funeral service will be held. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Dalton.
