Theresa A. Curmaci, R.N. 90 of West Scranton, died Tuesday at home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 66 years, Sam, passed away April 10, 2022.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Angelo & Fannie Capalongo Napolitano. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1951 and a graduate of the Hannemann Hospital School of Nursing, 1955. Prior to retirement Theresa worked private duty as an RN.
She loved being a nurse, her family & the casino. She was known as grandma to the community. She was a proud member of SOS Club, enjoyed reading & all types of puzzles.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Jene Lindsay, Kim Lokuta, Cheryle Barth, Mary Theresa Haynos & Tracy Bloom as well as the nurses and staff of Allied Hospice for all the care shown to Theresa while in their care.
Surviving are sons, Joseph and wife, Barbara, Norristown; Angelo and wife Debra, Nicholson; and Sam Jr., Florida; daughters, Marie Teresa Curmaci and husband Jerry Coyne, Scranton; and Phyllis Emiliani and husband Paul, Scranton; 10 grandchildren, Gina Carter and husband Travis; Alex Curmaci, Nikk Hay and husband Greg; Alyssa Blake and husband Robby; Corey Curmaci; Bridget Coyne and fiancé Marko Grimm, Jerry and Maria Coyne; Mia Tulaney and husband Alex; Paul Emiliani IV; great-grandchildren, Graydon and Ellington Hay, and Catherine and Parker Blake; several cousins, nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 AM in St. Lucy’s Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. Friends & family may pay their respects Thursday morning in the church from 9 AM until Mass time.
