Theresa (Hili) Tropeano

Theresa Tropeano, 82, of Dunmore; formerly of, Astoria, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 2nd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tropeano and daughter Mary Murphy.

Born November 20th 1943, in Malta.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gaetana Hili. Theresa enjoyed staying home and raising her children. She also was an avid bingo player, and used to play bingo with her mother every Thursday night. Theresa loved spending time with her family at their little “home away from home” Villa Roma Resorts, located in Callicoon, New York. After relocating to Pennsylvania, she enjoyed being a part of the Unico Keystone Chapter. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Theresa will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Theresa leaves behind her loving children Raymond (Susan), Barbara (Richard), and Joseph (Gabrielle). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren Michelle (Stephen), Jacalyn, Michael (Danielle), Kristen, Alexis, Gaetana (Brennan) Amaya, Sofia, Richard, Nevaeh and Logan, as well as 7 great grandchildren Aaron, Salvatore, Carter, Malcolm, Elena, Kai and Teagen; a sister Carmine (Michael), two brothers Victor (Janice), and Salvatore; two brothers-in-law Ronald Tropeano (Mona) and Ernest Tropeano. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Hili; as well as, her two sisters-in-law Patricia Hili and Carol Tropeano.  

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, July 9th, 2026  from 5-8pm at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. in Dunmore.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa’s memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
