Theresa K. (Ballino) Trotta

Theresa K. Trotta, 99, of Dunmore, died late Wednesday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.  Her husband of 56 years, the late Anthony Trotta, died in 2006.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Eugene and Louise DeFazio Ballino, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and had worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who most of all loved spending time with her family, as they meant everything to her.  She will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her sons, Anthony Trotta and wife Grace of Dunmore, and Eugene and wife Ann Marie of Clarks Summit; grandchildren Dana DeSanto and Husband Josh of Texas, Michele Uhler and husband Colin of Dunmore, Michael Trotta of Olyphant, Christopher Trotta and wife Angelina of Hawley, and Anthony Trotta and wife Sara of Dunmore; great-grandchildren Valkyrie, Ianeira, and Abrahm DeSanto; Logan and Landon Uhler; and Sophia and Gianna Trotta; her brother, Michael Ballino and wife Florence of Scranton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Russel Ballino, Antoinette Pane, Katherine Dunkialo, and Josephine Praefke.

The family would like to thank Linwood Nursing and Rehab, Geisinger-CMC Emergency Room Department and Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore for all of the care and compassion shown to Theresa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.

There are no public calling hours.

Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Elmhurst Township.
