Thomas T. McCarthy

Thomas T. McCarthy, 85, lifelong resident of the Sport Hill section of Dunmore, passed peacefully at home on April 29th.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Ruth Denniston.  Tom was married to Antoinette (Toni) Pacifico.  Tom was educated in the Dunmore School District and served in the U.S. Army.  Tom worked at Chamberlain and Gould Battery (Exide). He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Tom is survived by his wife Toni;  son Timothy McCarthy, Dunmore;  daughter Grace Gaughan and husband James, Dunmore;  grandsons Justin McCarthy and wife Kim, Dunmore; James Thomas Gaughan and girlfriend Alyssa Esteras, Jessup;  Christopher McCarthy and wife Katie, Dunmore;  great-grandsons Brody McCarthy, Bently Gaughan, Aiden and Connor Mulholland, Evan, Aiden, Camden, and Cullen McCarthy;  sister, Mary Burrows, Winchester, VA;  Sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Steve Denniston, and William McCarthy; sisters Jean Denniston, Ann Pidich, and Nancy Wyman; brother-in-law Ed Burrows.

There will be no public calling hours.  Private services will be held at Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp. at the convenience of the family. 

The family would like to thank the Traditional Hospice Team, Jamie, Theresa, Jill and Colleen, including all nurses and staff for all the care and support they gave Tom and his family.
