Timothy Michael Earley, Sr. of Dunmore, passed away unexpectedly at Geisinger-CMC on October 11th surrounded by family. He was 67.
Tim was born to the late John J. and Ann Marie Carter Earley of Dunmore and attended St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Elementary School. He attended Dunmore High School and was a proud Buck, playing successfully on both the basketball and football teams. He went on to graduate from Princeton University where he continued playing football for the Princeton Tigers. In 1979, he married his high-school sweetheart, Margaret Kearney, and they were married for 44 years until his death.
Tim majored in English and loved to write, compose, ponder, and could be heard reciting a limerick whenever it fancied him. He worked as a benefit consultant with the nation’s top health insurance companies for over 40 years and ultimately owned his own firm, Earley and Co.
Tim is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Kathleen Springer and husband Kevin, Shelter Island, NY; sons Dr. Timothy Earley and wife Kathryn, Meriden, NH; Michael Earley, Shelter Island, NY; and SSG Eamon Earley, Fort Benning GA; grandchildren Connor, Henry, Maeve, Caleb, Kevin, and Jackson.
He is also survived by his sister Mary Anne Pokoluk and her husband Nick; his sister Kathleen Barrett; his brother Jack and his wife Rosemary; as well as sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Lavelle, Regina Garvey and her husband David, Kathleen Kearney, Elizabeth Peck and her husband Dale, Annzie Astolfi and her husband Vince; former brother-in-law Patrick Lavelle; godchildren Michael Barrett, Nick Pokoluk, Amy Earley, Alex Hart, and Matthew Garvey; and dozens of beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons John and Patrick.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Oct. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore, PA, followed by interment at the Dunmore Cemetery.
