William J. Calderone, 75, Spring Brook Township, PA and formerly of Dumont, NJ died Saturday evening in Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. His late wife was the former Patricia “Patty” McCloskey.
Born in New York City he was the son of the late Charles and Jane Suleski Calderone. He attended New Milford High School and Gettysburg College and worked as a banker for PNC Bank before his retirement in 2005. Bill then worked as an usher for over ten years for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders.
He was a huge fan of sports and a longtime fan of the New York Jets and the New York Mets. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather who cherished spending time with his grandsons Steven and Cooper.
Surviving are his daughter Trisha Stracka and her husband Steven and their sons Steven and Cooper, a sister Rosanne Guardino and her husband Michael, two nieces Jennifer Guardino and Michelle Franke, in-laws Margaret and Stephen Toth, Eileen Sieminski, Geraldine McCloskey, Rosemary and John Torontow, William and Donna McCloskey and John and Norma McCloskey and many McCloskey nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his niece and goddaughter Christina Guardino.
The funeral will be Monday November 27th from the Vander Plaat Colonial Home 13-31 Saddle River Road Fair Lawn, NJ with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in The Church of Saint Anne 15-05 St Anne St Fair Lawn, NJ. Entombment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park 234 Paramus Road Paramus, New Jersey.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday November 26th from 3-5PM at Vander Plaat Colonial Home.
