William M. “Billy” Jones, Jr., 74, of Dunmore, passed away unexpectedly on Friday morning at home. He is survived by his wife, the former Debra Brazen. The couple were married for 25 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William M., Sr. and Clara Clark Jones. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and prior to retirement he was a laminator at Metkote Laminating Products.
Billy was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 314 and their weekend afternoon bartender for many years. He was also an officer of both Local and District 10. He was an Army veteran and very active with supporting veterans. He was an avid fan of Penn State football, the New York Giants, New York Mets, and Nascar. Billy was a “regular” customer at the Roosevelt Beer Garden where he enjoyed his time spent with friends. He was a laid-back easy-going guy with a kind and generous heart. Nothing meant more to Billy then his loving and supportive wife, Debbie. He will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is a sister, Beckie Schaffer and husband Bob, Scranton. A sister-in-law, Lisa Harhut and husband Mark, Dunmore.
