William Maglio Obituary

William S. Maglio “Bill”, 63, Moosic, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Alice Trainor Maglio. Bill was a graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School Class of 1979 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from King’s College. He was currently employed by Walgreens as a Regional Account Manager of Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy.

Bill was an avid Penn State fan, and enjoyed updates from his son's experiences, both as Penn State Alum. Bill was a connoisseur of Chicken Parm, and regularly updated his top 10 list, but nothing topped the original Olde Brooke Inn recipe, which he held as his gold standard. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation homes in Babcock Ranch, Florida and Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He was a regular golfer, but never became a great golfer, and anyone would agree with that. Bill had his daily routines, which started 30 years ago and continued until last Friday, and that was by calling his best friend, Rich DiBianco every single morning. At the end, Bill would end the call as he did everyone, “Bye Bye for now”.

Surviving are two sons, Anthony, Charlotte NC, and Nicholas, Philadelphia PA, Ellen Peifer, his lifelong partner, Point Pleasant, New Jersey, a sister Patricia Bracey and her husband Daniel, Jefferson Twp, a brother, Jerry, Springbrook Twp, Corine Connolly, who he considered a daughter, and her husband Dan, Marysville OH, as well as several nieces and nephews; Erin Bracey, Mariah Allen (Corey), Brianna, Damarco, and Angelina Maglio.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street in Dunmore.
