William D. Mecca

William D. Mecca, Jr., formerly of Dunmore, died Monday at Angels Family Manor.

Born in Dunmore, son of the late William D. Sr. and Carmel Muraca Mecca, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School and owned WD Europtik, a binocular and telescope business.  He was deeply interested in astronomy and the wonders of the cosmos, and he enjoyed exploring a wide range of possibilities about what might exist beyond our world.

Surviving are his children, Alicia and Bill, and his ex-wife Karen Watson Mecca.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles.

Services will be privately held.
