William T. DeNunzio, 96, Dunmore, died Saturday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center surrounded by his family. His wife of 74 years is the former Antoinette Reitano.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late John and Anna Lalli DeNunzio, he was educated in the Dunmore School District and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore. He served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Macon. Before his retirement, he was employed as a construction laborer in Local Union 130. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, John and William DeNunzio, Dunmore; daughter, Sandra Foley and husband Donald, Dunmore; grandchildren, Amanda O'Brien and husband, Ben; Matthew Foley and wife, Ellen; Megan Snyder and husband, Matt; great-grandchildren, Bobby, Olivia, Benjamin, Max, Anna and Graham; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Albert and Carl DeNunzio; and sisters Mary Mishakas and Ann Vaccaro.
The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Services Skilled Nursing and Geisinger Community Medical Center for their compassion and kindness during his time of care.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, 303 Smith Street, Dunmore, PA. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
